Getting Started
What are the system requirements?
ClearSweep requires:
- Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) or Windows 11
- DirectX 11-compatible GPU
- 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended for large drives)
- 50 MB disk space for installation
How do I install ClearSweep?
After purchasing, you'll receive a download link via email. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. No additional setup required.
Do I need administrator rights?
ClearSweep requires administrator privileges to scan system folders and protected directories. You'll be prompted for elevation when you launch the app.
Using ClearSweep
How do I scan a drive?
Launch ClearSweep and select a drive from the dropdown menu. Click "Scan" to analyze. Scanning is instant for most drives under 1TB.
What do the colors mean?
The sunburst visualization uses color gradients to show folder hierarchy. Outer rings represent deeper folder levels. Click any segment to drill down into that folder.
How do I delete files safely?
Right-click any file or folder in the visualization and select "Delete." Files are moved to the Recycle Bin, not permanently erased. System-critical folders are protected and cannot be deleted.
Can I filter by file type?
Yes. Use the filter panel on the right side to show only specific file types (videos, images, documents, etc.). You can also filter by size or date modified.
Can I export scan results?
Yes. Click File → Export to save your scan data as a CSV file. Useful for record-keeping or sharing with IT support.
Troubleshooting
ClearSweep won't launch
Try these steps:
- Make sure you're running Windows 10 (1809+) or Windows 11
- Update your graphics drivers
- Run the app as administrator
- Reinstall from the download link in your email
Scanning is slow
Large drives with millions of small files may take longer to scan. Ensure:
- You have at least 4 GB of free RAM
- Your GPU drivers are up to date
- No antivirus software is actively scanning the same drive
Some folders are missing
ClearSweep skips system-protected and hidden folders by default. To scan everything, enable "Show hidden files" in Settings → Advanced.
I accidentally deleted something
ClearSweep sends all deleted files to the Recycle Bin. Open the Recycle Bin and restore the file. Nothing is permanently deleted unless you empty the Recycle Bin manually.

Does my license expire?
No. ClearSweep is a one-time purchase with lifetime access. No subscriptions, no recurring fees.
How many computers can I install on?
Your license covers up to 3 personal computers. For business or team use, contact us for volume licensing.
How do I get updates?
ClearSweep checks for updates automatically when launched (if connected to the internet). Updates are free and install with one click.
